Child Sponsorship

Education is the key to improving the lives of these needy children, and Boxes of Hope, Cumbria is supporting Tinca School, built for the Roma children in the village of Tinca, using charitable aid mostly from abroad.  The main buildings are complete and provide a warm, welcoming and bright environment which encourages learning.  There is a kindergarten and 4 classes which cater for children up to 11 years.  175 children attend school – half in the morning and half in the afternoon – we saw them and their teachers on our recent trip, and they were truly inspirational.  However, the children’s  attendance in school is dependent on funds being available to pay for the teachers and educational materials.

If you would like to sponsor a child, please contact us at info@boxesofhopecumbria.co.uk.  For £25 per month, for a minimum of 12 months, you will enable a child to attend school, including a nutritious meal each day.

You can choose to sponsor a boy or a girl, and you will receive a photo and details of your child, then quarterly progress reports of the class as a whole.

Pictures of Tinca School will be posted on the website in the New Year.
