The distribution team has just returned from a week in north west Romania, distributing most of your shoeboxes with the help of People to People, our charity partners based in Oradea.  It was a great week, as we travelled to some of the poorest and most forgotten and neglected children in Europe.  We visited rural villages where the children rushed out to greet us and were over the moon to receive their shoebox gifts.  We went along to churches where the children sang their hearts out to us, and to schools where the atmosphere was bright and happy, the children so obviously enjoying their lessons.  We saw some wonderful work in progress, such as the city mission in Oradea, Children of the Promise, where there is food and after school activities for orphans and children who have been abandond.  The full story will be posted when the team has had a chance to get back to UK style living, but meanwhile, here is a small selection of our photos.
